We are an innovative design/build company of skilled artisans who focus on aesthetic and utility landscapes and crafts that are sustainable and/or restorative. Every one of our team members takes pride in their work and it shows through quality. We offer everthing from simple contemporary home designs and rain water collection to vegetable gardens, farmstead/ranch planning and implementation, and fully fledged food forests.

Everything we do is inspired by thoughts like the ideas behind Permaculuture, Holistic Management, or Masanobu Fukuoka's "Natural Farming" or "Do-nothing Farming". We believe in looking at our problems with a holistic viewpoint in order to attempt a more full understanding before solving them. This viewpoint not only enables us to find great solutions but also tackle a broader range of problems.

There are three general ethical principles that permaculture abides by and that we follow:

  • Care for the earth: Provision for all life systems to continue and multiply. This is the first principle, because without a healthy earth, humans cannot flourish.
  • Care for the people: Provision for people to access those resources necessary for their existence.
  • Return of surplus: Reinvesting surpluses back into the system to provide for the first two ethics. This includes returning waste back into the system to recycle into usefulness. The third ethic is sometimes referred to as Fair Share to reflect that each of us should take no more than what we need before we reinvest the surplus.

“Permaculture is a philosophy of working with, rather than against nature; of protracted and thoughtful observation rather than protracted and thoughtless labor; and of looking at plants and animals in all their functions, rather than treating any area as a single product system."

                                     -Bill Mollison

It is often said that we must choose between a prospering economic system or a sustainable and earth friendly lifestyle. We believe that both are synergistic and even necessary for our continuation and happiness. We strive to find solutions that are both environmentally friendly and economically viable. As well as working on small scale home systems, we thrive on larger projects with lofty goals of mass carbon sequestration or re-vegetating desertified land.
